Koha 25.05 Release Team – The votes are in!

Last updated on: 15th April 2025|4th December 2024 | Martin Renvoize | Koha

The Koha community recently elected their next release team. These individuals will drive the next six months of Koha development, helping us maintain momentum and achieve our shared goals.

The votes are in!

I’ve written before about the vital role of Koha’s community release teams. With the six-month feature cycle flying by, we’re now gearing up for the Koha 25.05 cycle!

I’m thrilled to share that PTFS Europe staff are stepping up once again, taking on key responsibilities for the upcoming release. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Katrin Fischer, from BSZ in Germany, will be continuing for her last cycle as the Release Manager. Katrin managed to secure sponsorship from her employer to stand for a third cycle in the hopes of getting the last of her goals over the finish line.  She will be assisted again by some of our former release managers, including myself.
  • We have a new face joining the Maintenance team with Paul Derscheid, from our friends LMS Cloud. Paul’s been making waves in the community recently and it’s been a pleasure working with him on the Bookings module these past couple of cycles.
  • The Catalyst IT team are taking on the maintenance of 24.05.
  • The 23.11 (oldoldstable) version will continue to be in the very capable hands of Fridolin Somers, from Biblibre in France.
  • Martin Renvoize (PTFS Europe) will be continuing as the Quality Assurance Manger, and pushing for more progress on the QA queues and more collaboration between companies to help make that happen.
  • Pedro Amorin and Matt Blenkinsop (both PTFS Europe) are continuing on the Quality Assurance team this cycle.
  • Jacob O’Mara and Jake Deery (both PTFS Europe) will be taking on ‘Bug Wrangler’ roles. They’ll be helping to keep our bug tracker under control, squashing bugs and helping filter and prioritise the submissions.
  • Aude Charillon (PTFS Europe) will be continuing in the Documentation team focusing on writing the docs.

These people will really help to shape both Koha 25.05 and the Koha community during their 6-month feature cycle and I’d love to see more of our customers getting involved in the future.
