OUR EXPERIENCE

Koha LMS for museum and special collection libraries‘ – Meet Helen Symington, our museum and special collection libraries account manager. In this webinar, Helen shares how the Koha library management system can be tailored for the complex needs of unique library environments often found within museum and special collection libraries.

At Open Fifth, we recognise that libraries and archives are unique and often complex. We consider special libraries to be any library that does not see itself as fitting comfortably or simply within library sectors such as public, academic or health.

We proudly work with special, museum, archive and corporate libraries throughout the UK and overseas, providing implementation, support and training for open source library software.

We believe that there is a natural alignment between the values of libraries and open source software, including knowledge sharing, equal access to information, innovation, transparency, and cost-effectiveness.

Special and museum libraries choose Koha LMS and Aspen Discovery software because they are comprehensive, engaging and user-focused solutions that meet their needs with a suite of available integrations. By using open source software, not proprietary, libraries don’t pay expensive licensing fees or face vendor lock-in and also benefit from a global open source development and user community.

At Open Fifth, our focus is on delivering high-quality implementation, training and support for libraries and building lasting relationships with the customers we serve.
