ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification
In May 2025 Open Fifth achieved recertification to the globally-recognised leading Information Security Management Systems Standard ISO/IEC 27001. This also represents the company’s first assessment against the updated version ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Our Certificate of Registration is publicly available online.
For our customers, certification to ISO/IEC 27001 provides critical assurance of our security practices for your data integrity and confidentiality, the cyber-resilience of our business systems and continuity, preparedness for evolving security risks, adherence to compliance requirements, and your trust in us as responsible stewards of your information and library systems.

Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification
In 2023, Open Fifth achieved certification for National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Essentials Plus, accompanying our certification to Cyber Essentials which we have held since 2018. This important security accreditation helps to continue to assure our customers that as an organisation we are committed to ensuring the very best measures of protection for their systems and data that we implement and support.
Meeting the requirements of Cyber Essentials Plus gives increased protection against a wide variety of the most common cyber attacks. Achieving this certification involves a rigorous, hands-on technical verification by an external assessor to ensure that the hardware and software that the Open Fifth team is using is as secure as it can be from cyber attack. It provides an extra layer of assurance in addition to our Cyber Essentials and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications.
