What’s on our mind: Adding additional/custom MARC fields in the record display – Koha 25.11

Last updated on: 22nd July 2026| 22nd July 2026 | Nason Bimbe | Koha

In this week’s ‘What’s on our mind’ video, Nason Bimbe shares the Koha 25.11 enhancement to display additional / custom MARC fields in search results or record pages.

The enhancement offers a clean way for staff to achieve this without resorting to modifying Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT). All you need is knowledge of the Template Toolkit.

This development provides a way to enhance bibliographic displays including the staff interface result and detail pages, and the OPAC’s result and detail pages. This is accessed through “Tools” > “Additional content” > “Record display customizations”.

  • Bug 39860 – Add a way to allow for additional/custom MARC fields in the record display
  • Koha Manual – Record display customizations
